Friday, March 21st, 2008

Are you one of the millions of sinus suffers in the UK? Have you failed to get relief from antibiotics? Then in light of new medical research studies showing that antibiotics really do not work, try a new product which offers fast, safe, effective and gentle drug-free relief – the NeilMed Sinus Rinse™ from NeilMed Pharmaceuticals Inc, a world leader in designing and manufacturing Nasal irrigation rinses.Already a leading brand in America, the NeilMed Sinus Rinse™ is an all-natural system which was invented and developed by Dr. K.C. Mehta, a renowned lung specialist in California. It can be used as often as needed and is safe for every sinus sufferer, including pregnant women, people on multiple medications and children. The NeilMed Sinus Rinse™ Kit costs £13.75 for the device and a 1 month supply of Sachets, and £16.75 for 100 Refill Mix Sachets (7 week supply) – and is now available in the UK from selected pharmacies, including Boots and Alliance Pharmacy or direct from NeilMed Pharmaceuticals – (www.neilmed.com).

And the good news is that the company is offering sinus suffers a free sample of the NeilMed Sinus Rinse™. So log on to the website (www.neilmed.co.uk) and sign up for your free sample!

In an interview with Judy Viitanen, Dr. K.C. Mehta, NeilMed’s President, explains that although many GPs treat bacterial Sinusitis with a regimen of antibiotics, decongestants, and various nasal steroid sprays, unfortunately many of these infections do not disappear completely once the treatment is finished. In many cases, the symptoms may be gone, but the infection may still loom.

Dr. Mehta comments: Sinusitis is very common – often occurring after colds or flu. Antibiotics are routinely used to treat sinus infections, but many medical experts believe they are most likely being way over prescribed for sinus problems. Two recent new research studies showed that the widespread use of standard antibiotics to treat sinus infections does not help cure patients and may harm them by increasing their resistance to the drugs.”

He adds: “Nasal saline rinsing has been proven in a number of clinical studies to be helpful for the treatment of chronic sinus infections, as well as relief of nasal congestion. Nasal saline irrigation recently received validation from a Cochrane review (July2007) of all relevant clinical trials. The key to symptom relief is to use a large amount of saline solution every time you perform a saline nasal rinse. This cannot be achieved by using saline nasal sprays.”

Nasal saline irrigation, in simple terms, means that by washing the inside of the nose with a large volume (240 ml or more) of saline solution, you wash away potential allergens, relieve sinus congestion, release the mucus and improve the overall effectiveness of your own body’s air filter system. The all natural saline solution in NeilMed’s Sinus Rinse™ contains no harmful additives such as preservatives, anti-caking agents or iodine that are commonly found in most saline solutions.

And since the all natural ingredients in the saline solution do not contain any active drug, it is safe for all ages and does not have side effects. Regular nasal washing with the NeilMed Sinus Rinse™ kit is easy to do and it provides users significant symptomatic relief.

The product has received numerous recommendations and testimonials from leading physicians.   Dr. Richard Harvey, Lead author, Cochrane review on nasal saline irrigation (July 2007) and Fellow, Otolaryngology, Royal Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital, London, says: “Saline irrigations are a quick, simple and cost-effective adjunct in the management of chronic sinus disease and post-operative nasal care. Topical nasal saline is not just a ‘feel good’ treatment. It should be included in any strong evidence based approach to the treatment of chronic sino-nasal conditions. NeilMed’s Sinus Rinse™ has set the industry benchmark by which all other delivery devices are compared. The ease of use, simple refill ability, comfort and Quick Dry dock makes NeilMed’s Sinus Rinse™ the first choice for all our sinusitis patients.”

PRimage advice to sinus suffers is – “If you have suffered for years from sinus or other nasal problems and are still not getting relief, it really is time to start treating yourself with the NeilMed Sinus Rinse™. With regular use it can successfully provide soothing relief for your sinus symptoms, naturally”.

This follows the departure of Alison White at the end of last year (she took over from former CEO John D’Arcy in Summer ’07). The PRimage team wish Mr Turk well in his new job.

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Judy Viitanen was encouraged by more good news on the Conservative’s increasing voter appeal, as the latest ICM political opinion poll shows that the Tories have extended their lead to 13 per cent.

NHS cuts buried in Budget? – PRimage comment

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Judy Viitanen has heard that the Conservatives claim that figures “buried” in last week’s Budget show the government plans to cut £3.2bn from NHS spending over three years!

As a specialist healthcare PR and lobbying consultancy PRimage believes that if this is the case, Brown, Darling and the Health Secretary Alan Johnson all need to be more transparent on future NHS spending. PRimage hope that the the Tories probe this further!

Sex Scandal Sagas in the US – PRimage view

Monday, March 17th, 2008

From what Judy Viitanen and the PRimage team hear from our friends and colleagues in the Big Apple, New Yorkers are lapping up and enjoying all the media coverage about the alledged sex scandal surrounding their former Governor Spitzer.

Our take on this is that it’s human nature and hot wired in most of us to enjoy reading about a juicy scandal – and from what we hear about the sanctimonious Spitzer, he was a deeply unpopular Governor…. So when you add in the age-old dynamic that ‘sex sells newspapers’ it’s not surprising to us that this story has got so much air time and column inches within the US media.

Peter Viitanen, PRimage Marketing Director is a former New Yorker – and he says that he well remembers Attorney General Spitzer also getting plenty of ink and face time in the media when he handcuffed stock traders in Wall Street — just about all these fraud cases were either never prosecuted or were dismissed.    So pardon our schadenfreude now when the ‘Love Gov’ gets the publicity he well deserves. Hubris and arrogance repaid in the cosmic equilibrium!”

High tax = low growth: PRimage view

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Yes, PRimage know we are in the midst of a worldwide credit crunch and yes, we know that Cameron and his crew want to appear to be fiscally responsible, but the PRimage team can’t help but feel that the Tories are totally blinkered to say so emphatically that they would not introduce any tax cuts in their first term of office. As yesterday’s YouGov opinion poll shows, voters are totally fed up with this high taxing, stealth tax grabbing Labour Government! Conservatives now have a whopping 16% lead over Labour: and they should capitalise on this by listening to the public – and realise that to ensure a Conservative victory, cost and tax cutting must be promised and that promise must be kept. Otherwise Brown and co are going to be re-elected, or the alternative scenario: a hung Parliament at the next General Election – which will benefit no one! What’s your opinion? Post a comment

Dollar dilemmas – PRimage views on the US economy

Monday, March 17th, 2008

PRimage view is that despite the recent attempts by President Bush to reassure US businessmen that the country’s economy is fundamentally strong, the outlook for the US economy and business environment is increasingly dire. Yesterday the U.S. Federal Reserve announced emergency measures to stem a fast-spreading global financial crisis, tapping tools last used in the Great Depression to pour funds into cash-starved Wall Street firms. Judy Viitanen and the PRimage team are concerned for our American clients, business colleagues and friends. Let’s hope things improve!
